Memo’s ACT-2 update shifts attention from demos to repeatability

Sunday’s July 16 ACT-2 preview describes a training approach intended to make improvements learned internally transfer to unfamiliar homes. The company reports 99.1% zero-shot success for laundry folding in its evaluation. That figure belongs to a specific manufacturer-run test, not to every job Memo might be asked to do.
The distinction matters when comparing robots. A folding trial, a complete room reset and an entire day without assistance are different units of success. Percentages from different companies should not become a league table unless their tasks, trial conditions and failure rules are comparable.
For a future home trial, we would want to understand which garments were evaluated, how failures were handled and how much setup was required. The guide has not reproduced Sunday’s evaluation.
The update adds context to Memo’s development. It is not evidence of a retail launch or verified customer delivery. The original research date remains July 16, even though this analysis was added in October.
